Laura and Owen Uscher Host a Baby Formula Drive with Soma Justice and the Newark Water Coalition
After hearing about the recent formula shortages and how the recalls were impacting low income residents and those on WIC, (Women, Infants, and Children - a federal or state program to ensure proper nutrition for poor mothers and their children)Laura had the idea to host a formula drive to aid those in need and Owen jumped at the idea!
Laura is a stay at home mom to Theo and is passionate about animal rescue and devotes her time to her child and a house full of rescued and special needs pets, including their pups, Sebastian and Maximus who are from Your New Best Friend Rescue, located in Short Hills, NJ.
Owen works in finance and is on the Associate Board at Oliver Scholars, an educational foundation in NYC that prepares students of color to attend elite private schools in New York City and beyond. He also provides pro-bono consulting for black New York City based small business owners and entrepreneurs with Together We Thrive through United Way NYC. Prior to this, Owen has served as a mentor to NYC high school students through the iMentor program.
